Crested Butte, Colorado
Crested Butte, Colorado really consists of 2 towns: Mt. Crested Butte and Crested Butte, and a great deal of property in between and around the 2 towns. There are a variety of residential properties including condos, townhomes and single family homes. Besides properties located in the confines of the 2 towns, there is also CB South (about 8 miles from Crested Butte with a mostly full time local contingency), Meridian Lake (2 miles from Gothic Road, Meridian Lake consists mostly of single family homes and boasts incredible views of Mt. Crested Butte), and outlying areas not far from each of the 2 towns.
Getting here isn't exactly easy, but that is what separates us from the Front Range resorts, that and the special wide open valley we have here. The way I like to think about our distance from Denver is that it takes about 4 hours to drive here from Denver. On most winter weekends, the traffic on I-70 is horrendous and the drive to Beaver Creek or Vail can sometimes also take about 4 hours. The difference is that once you get here, you experience a much better quality of skiing, the lift lines are almost non-existent, and you can get lunch without waiting on line. So by committing to the drive initially, you are in for a much better weekend than if you had followed the pack.
