The Kapushion subdivision in Crested Butte is a small area consisting of part of Butte Avenue and Ruth's Road on the eastern side of town. It is very near the Peanut Lake road which leads to the Lower Loop. This is a highly desirable area with a relatively small number of houses. The Kapushion annexation developed 10 acres of land and consists of 33 single family lots. It also preserved 110 acres of land as open space. The continuation of Butte Avenue to Peanut Lake Road leads to the Lower Loop.
The Lower Loop and Upper Lower Loop are 3.6 miles of trails adjacent to the town of Crested Butte. Their existence is due to the efforts of the Crested Butte Land Trust which has arranged and purchased land and easements to make this trail possible. The Lower Loop is one of the most often used trails in the Crested Butte area, due to its inherent beauty and its location a short walk from town. The Lower Loop is used extensively by hikers, bikers and equestrians. .
