Rural Mt. Crested Butte is the area surrounding Mt. Crested Butte town proper. As with most rural areas, the lot sizes are usually larger, but since the town is relatively small, it is still very convenient to live in rural Mt. Crested Butte and have great accessibility to town and its amenities.

This is a relatively mature subdivision well located between Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte. Smith Hill Ranch is a collection of 35 acre parcels located off Washington Gulch Road, on the way to Meridian Lake. These lots have great access to mountain biking and backcountry skiing. The downhill skiing at Mt. Crested Butte ski resort is only minutes away, and downtown Crested Butte is less than 10 minutes away.
